Is Rage Quitting Ruining Online Gaming?

Rage Quitters

Online gaming has become a huge phenomenal in recent years due to the introduction of next generation consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox360.

For those who are reading and are unfamiliar with the term, “rage quitting” has been kindly defined on urban dictionary:

To stop, cease, or discontinue a game due to aggravation from being constantly bested in any type of challenge within the game.

Rumors have been swirling as of late that Sony will soon be unveiling a new fighting title that will see some similarities to Nintendo’s Smash Bros. franchise. In particular, it seems that characters from Sony’s various game franchises will be gathering for this upcoming project.

New content has been discovered that all but confirms this speculated title. Chris Molina, a senior level designer at SuperBot Entertainment, has posted the images above to his Twitter account and has left messages that essentially confirm its existence. One image even indicates that Kratos and Sweet Tooth will be making an appearance.

The main cause of the boycott was the exclusive weapons deal which could cause an imbalance against players who do not pay for the game in advance and those who do not pre-order BF3. Also the Back to Karkand expansion pack being more expansion to gamers picking the title up on the high street.

EA commented via their Battlefield blog saying, “Because we believe in rewarding our core fanbase with special offers — such as giving them the Back to Karkand expansion pack at no extra charge.”

Details about Sony’s new handheld have been trickling out for months in the form of spec sheets and fantastic footage of its quad core capabilities. All that, and we still didn’t know how much she’d cost or when we could get our grubby paws around one. Thankfully for those tuned in at E3, said mystery is a mystery no more — the Vita will be listed at $249 for the WiFi-only model, or $299 for the 3G version. Sony’s Kaz Hirai confirmed will be available exclusively through AT&T, with both models shipping worldwide toward the end of 2011. For those of you camped out overseas, prices are set for ¥24,980 (WiFi) and ¥29,980 (3G) in Japan, while those closer to that other pond will see tags of €249 and €299. The UK Prices are £229 and £279.

Microsoft's E3 Conference Review: 4/10

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, commonly known as E3, is an annual trade show for the computer and video games industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association and every year gamersoutlook reviews the each company’s conferences. Let me begin by saying we had high hopes for Microsoft E3 Press conference as we stated in a previous article “Will Microsoft Steal E3 2011”.

However after watching Microsoft’s E3 conference we are completely disappointed. The conference was mostly based on kinect games and how many games which have been announced will feature kinect features. It really does seem Microsoft has lost its hardcore base. Relying on Gears Of War and Halo to keep hardcore gamers happy, but its simply not enough when you compare this to Sony’s first party hardcore titles. Which are constantly delivered; not just sequels but new IP’s also being created. Below are some noteworthy announcements for hardcore gamers.
